A 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Philippines

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Mindanao Island in the southern Philippines. This is reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on May 30. According to the agency, underground shocks were registered at 13:06 at the world coordinated time UTC (16.06 Moscow time). The epicentre of the earthquake was 196 km from Sarangani Province, its hearth was at a depth of 41.9 km. No casualties or destruction were reported, nor was the threat of a tsunami announced. According to the news agency, earlier earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred off the coast of the city of Benkulu on the island of Sumatra.
