Mayor of Ukrainian Ternopol: The city's economy is on its knees
Ternopol will live a full life, despite the order of the Ukrainian authorities to tighten quarantine measures. This, according to the publication Strana.ua, said on August 4 the mayor of the city Sergey Nadal. We will not close enterprises, markets, because the city's economy is on its knees. People lose their jobs, the business closes. We understand that the infection will not go anywhere, it, unfortunately, will exist for more than one month, we need to get used to living in new realities, he said. According to the official, the city was unfairly attributed to the red quarantine zone, since the incidence rate is only 0.1 above the norm, and hospital occupancy is 46.8% with a standard of over 75% established for the red zone. Nadal noted that the central authorities should first gather the mayors of large cities and discuss with them the initiative to introduce multi-colored quarantine zones, and not make hasty decisions. We cannot say that we are not afraid of conflict, we understand, but we have no other way, no one hears us without communication. We are ready to work with the minister, to develop a general plan of action, the mayor of Ternopol emphasized. According to the news agency, earlier the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladislav Krikliy spoke about plans to soften quarantine measures in Ternopol after a riot of train passengers who forced the driver to make a stop in the city.
