Uzbekistan simplified the import of vaccine against COVID-19, as well as a number of drugs

The import of rapid tests for coronavirus, as well as several vaccines, including the vaccine against COVID-19 and some drugs, has been simplified to Uzbekistan. This is stated in the press service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic. The relevant amendments were adopted by resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan No. 582 of September 24, 2020, according to which amendments and additions were made to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on measures to regulate the circulation of medicines, medical products and medical equipment during the coronavirus pandemic of July 22, 2020 No. 449. The list of medical products and equipment imported into Uzbekistan without registration and certification used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 included rapid tests for antibodies and antigens to COVID-19. The list of drugs and medicines imported to Uzbekistan without registration, subject to mandatory certification and used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19, included a vaccine for the prevention of influenza, a vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19, as well as a vaccine for the prevention of pneumococcal infections. This list also included several drugs: barium sulfate, pancuronium bromide, pipecuronium bromide, atracuria besylate, cefepim and tazobactam, as well as nitroglycerin. Until March 1, 2021, these drugs are exempt from paying value added tax. The deadline for the sale and implementation of customs clearance of these drugs and products without registration with the state bodies of Uzbekistan has been extended until March 1, 2021 (previously it was established until October 1, 2020).
