British OneWeb satellites launched from Baikonur launched into orbit
All 34 British Earth satellites have been successfully launched into working orbit around the OneWeb. This is reported on February 7 by the press service of Roscosmos. Successive separation of nine groups of spacecraft from the booster unit took place on a regular basis in accordance with the flight cyclogram after two switches-on of Frigate's cruise propulsion system. All 34 satellites have been successfully put into target orbits, the report said. The total time to launch satellites into normal orbit using the Frigat-M booster was 3.5 hours. As previously reported by the news agency, on February 7, at 00:42 Moscow time, a Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle was launched from the Baikonur launch site with 34 communication satellites from the British company OneWeb. This launch is the first launch of OneWeb satellites carried out at Baikonur. A total of about 600 satellites are expected to be launched into orbit, with commercial use beginning in 2020.
