Italy could reopen Colosseum to visit

The authorities of Italy do not exclude the opening of museums and attractions of the country, closed as early as March 8 due to the pandemic of coronavirus infection, said the head of the Italian Ministry of Culture Dario Francescini in an interview with the newspaper La Repubblica. According to him, the resumption of activities is possible for those museums and historical monuments that fully meet the security requirements. Among such attractions are the Colosseum and Pompeii. Francescini added that the situation in theatres and cinema is more difficult, but the Italian authorities spend money to support them during the closure. It is also not yet known when Italy will be ready to receive tourists from abroad again. So far, Italian authorities are counting on domestic tourism.
