Iran announced completion of the work of the tenth Majlis

In Iran, the tenth Parliament (Majlis) will cease its work on 26 May. This was reported in the press service of the Iranian legislature on 3 May. The final date (work) of the tenth Parliament is May 26, the press service quotes the statement of the representative of the Presidium of the Parliament Asadullah Abbasi. According to Abbasi, the Iranian Majlis will hold open meetings until May 20, after which they will cease, as there will be a holiday of conversation among Muslims, marking the end of the post in the holy month of Ramadan. Recall, according to the news agency, on February 21 in Iran in more than 200 electoral districts of 31 provinces of the country held elections to the parliament of the eleventh convocation, consisting of 290 deputies. According to the data provided by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Iran Abdolrez Rahmani Fazli, voter turnout amounted to 42.57%. According to preliminary estimates by Iranian media, conservatives won the February Majlis elections, and reformers supporting President Hassan Rouhani's government suffered a devastating defeat.
