As the United States undergoes another increase in COVID-19 incidence, hospitals are revising the principles for distributing ventilators. A study conducted in March showed that half of US hospitals have a policy of distributing and rationing IVL devices according to age. The US is not alone in this. Not surprisingly, this policy led to avoidable deaths. Same with quarantine and isolation.
