The number of victims of heavy rains in southwestern Japan exceeded 30 people
More than 30 people died as a result of natural disasters caused by heavy long rains in southwestern Japan, NHK reports. The channel notes that the death of 16 people has been officially confirmed so far. Another 17 are in a state of clinical death. Also 13 people went missing. The most affected by floods and landslides was Kumamoto Prefecture, where several rivers spilled due to showers. It was in this prefecture that a nursing home was flooded, killing 14 people. According to the news agency, 18 deaths were previously reported as a result of floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in southwestern Japan. On July 4, more than 200 thousand residents of Kumamoto and Kagoshima prefectures received a mandatory evacuation order from dangerous areas.
