Trump proposed Colonel McGregor to the post of US ambassador to Germany


Retired US Army Colonel Douglas McGregor has been proposed by US President Donald Trump for the post of American ambassador to Germany. This was announced on July 27 by the press service of the White House. As follows from the statement of the presidential administration, McGregor is a universally recognized expert on military construction and the development of large-scale political strategies. In particular, he participated in the strategic planning of the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO. In the American media, it is noted that McGregor served in Germany for several years and is fluent in German. In 1989, he wrote the analytical work of the Soviet-East German Military Alliance. As a veteran of the armed forces, McGregor has state awards, including for participating in the Iraqi Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Currently, the colonel who resigned in 2004 is vice president at one of the small Washington consulting companies.
