Leader of US-based terrorist group arrested in Iran


On August 1, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence announced the arrest of the leader of a terrorist group known as Tondar, which is based in the United States. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA. Iran dealt a heavy and brutal blow to a terrorist group based in the United States, the statement said. Iran arrested Jamshid Sharmahd, the alleged leader of the terrorist group Tondar (Thunder), the country's intelligence ministry noted. Sharmahd, who led armed and sabotage actions against Iran, was arrested during the operations of the Iranian security forces and is now at the disposal of the country's Ministry of Intelligence. The ministry notes that later they will report more detailed information about the arrest. Tondar, or the Royal Assembly of Iran, also known as the soldiers of the Royal Assembly of Iran, is an armed terrorist royalist group seeking to overthrow the ruling government and restore the monarchy in Iran.
